Andrew James Andrules, 88, of Shillington, passed away April 7, 2018 in his residence. He was the husband of Merryle Ann (Gordon) Andrules. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in February. Born in Brecknock Twp., Berks Co., he was a son on the late John J. & Anna Mary (Sczminski) Andrules. Jim served in the US Army as a sergeant of weapons at the 38th parallel during the Korean War. After he was discharged from the Army, he worked as a diamond driller at Grace Mines for 15 years. He later became part owner of 568 Auction and served as constable for many years. He started the Police Department in Brecknock Township and served at their Chief. Jim later started Merritt's Paving and operated the business for 28 years. He enjoyed special times with the family at picnics, Sea Isle City and loved the Chesapeake Bay. Jim loved to play golf with his dear friend Jerry. Jim & Merryle loved to go to the casino's and bet on the horses. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children - Audrey Andrules wife of Timothy Dietrich, Greenfields, Doreen Andrules wife of Jim Frank, Reading, Lori wife of Ron Swider, Richmond Twp., Arn Andrules, Brecknock Twp., his sister - Jeanette wife of Robert Fisher, Shillington and his grandchildren - Lily, Amy, Tessa, Elyse & James. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings - Tom Andrules, Bill Mason, Ed Mason, his sister-in-law - Ethel Mason and his 1st wife - Edith (Messner) Andrules. Friends and relatives may call on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 2:00 - 3:30 PM at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Interment will be private.
