Anna Geras, 96, of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully May 21, 2026, at Columbia Cottage where she was a guest since December 23rd.
Born in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Charles & Marianthe (Kutcher) Kontis. She was the wife of the late James A. Geras who passed away Feb. 10, 1989. They shared 33 wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing.
Anna was the secretary to the Muhlenberg Township Board of Commissioners for 22 years, retiring in 1995. A 1947 graduate of Reading High School, she was a faithful member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church where she was involved in the church choir, the Greek bazaar, and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the St. Xenia Philoptochos Society.
Anna enjoyed her bus trips to Atlantic City and her trips to Disney World. There was nothing that brought her more pride and joy than her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son – Anthony J. Geras and his wife Patricia of Apollo Beach, FL, her grandchildren – Kelly Kollar and her husband Alex of Apollo Beach, Matthew Geras fiancé of Victoria Frazier of Springfield, IL, Kristen Harrison wife of Derrick of Clarksville, TN, her great grandchildren – Jaxon & Kaden Kollar, Winnie and twins Lottie & Nora Harrison, and her nieces – Maryann Dolzani wife of Brian and Vicki Raisides. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sister Harriet Raisides.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM from Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611. Father Emmanuel Maginas presiding. Interment in Charles Evans Cemetery. Viewing from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.
