Anthony Velazquez, 74, of Spring Township, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, where he was a patient. Born in the Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late Antonio Velazquez and Gladys Mercedes Barreto.
Anthony was a skilled carpenter, who lent his craftsmanship to countless projects and homes throughout the Bronx, NY, Worcester, MS, and Reading, PA. In his free time, he loved bicycle riding, and in his 30s, made a remarkable cross-country journey from New York City to California on his bike.
Anthony always expressed deep love and dedication to his family, especially to his mother, whom he lovingly cared for during her illness with cancer. He also cherished his son, Antonio, taking great pride in all of his accomplishments. One of Anthony's greatest joys in life was becoming a grandfather; he adored his grandson, Antonio Steven, and treasured the time they spent together.
Anthony is survived by his son, Antonio Daniel Velazquez, his grandson, Antonio Steven Velazquez, his brother John Velazquez, and his former wife, Rosemary Rosario. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Bridys Abbazia, and a brother, Ruben Velazquez. He was also fond of his pet dog, Gaston, who he took with him whenever he made long trips.
A public viewing will be held from 2:00-4:00PM on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, PA, followed by a Prayer Service at 4:00PM with Deacon Joseph Lombardo presiding. Interment will be private. www.kleefuneralhome.com
