Arlene E. Hemmig, 87, of Pennwyn, passed away December 24, 2024, at 4:29 PM in her residence with her loving family by her side.
Born in Spring Township, she was a daughter of the late Paul Z. and Elsie P. (Reeser) Fox. She was the wife of the late Elwood B. “Woody” Hemmig who passed away January 11, 2017. They celebrated 61 years of marriage prior to his passing.
Arlene was a 1955 graduate of Governor Mifflin H.S. She loved bingo, painting ceramics, baking, watching the “Golden Girls”, Rusty Wallace and going for rides in the car. She was a former member of the Pennwyn Civic Association. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. “She was the greatest mom we could have ever asked for”.
She is survived by her children – Connie Irving, Austin, TX, Karen A, Hemmig, Pennwyn, Kathy wife of Shannon Petsch, Alsace Twp., Paul husband of Lori Hemmig, Pennwyn, David husband of Angela Hemmig, Reading, Mark husband of Ann Hemmig, Mohnton, Thomas Hemmig, Pennwyn, Cheryl wife of Christopher Mershon, Pennwyn, her brother – Lloyd I. Fox, Kenhorst, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by brothers John F. Fox and Robert P. Fox.
