Barbara A. (Ruppert) D'Agostino

        Barbara A. (Ruppert) D’Agostino, 85, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in her Reading home, following an extended illness.  Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Beatrice (Metzger) Ruppert.    

        A graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, Barbara worked at the family-owned Ruppert’s Bakery in Reading for many years.  She also worked at the former Maier’s Bakery, Reading, and at The Pretzel Twist in the Fairgrounds Market.  Barbara was a longtime member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park, and was a lifetime Ladies Auxiliary Member of Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society. Always active in her free time, Barbara enjoyed NASCAR, swimming, water aerobics, walking, golf, bowling and bicycling.

Barbara is survived by her son, Steven T. husband of Karen D’Agostino, Reading, her grandson Joseph T. D’Agostino, her great grandson Dylan Merklinger, her nephew Michael husband of Wendy Heinecke and her cousins Paul and Carl husband of Cindy Krick. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Heinecke.         Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM from Holy Guardian Angels R. C. Church, 3125 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park, PA 19605. The Reverend Allen J. Hoffa, M. Div. celebrant. Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery. Viewing Wednesday 10:30-11:00 AM at the church. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington, is assisting the family.
