Barbara Ann (Sematis) Gromlich, 83, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025, in her Reading home, with her loving husband Paul, and other family members by her side. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Weiss) Sematis. She and Paul were married for nearly 60 years and worked side-by-side together most of their lives.
Barb lived a life filled with love, kindness, and quiet strength. She dedicated herself to her family, always putting others before herself and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. While she worked with Paul in his Auto business for many years, her true passion was in staying home to care for her family, whether it was through her comforting words, homemade meals, or steady presence. Barb had a gift for making everyone feel cared for and valued.
In addition to her husband, Paul, Barb is survived by her daughter, Michelle Gromlich, fiancé of Dennis L. Deiter, Jr., Reading, and her son, Mark Gromlich, husband of Kim, Sinking Spring, along with her sister, Mary Jane Hutt, Pottstown, and brother, Ernie Sematis, Florida. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Brielle Hecker and Evan Gromlich, and her great grandchildren: Wyatt, Chase, Aubree and Olive. Barb also had a soft spot in her heart for Michelle's cat Tinkerbell, who was a great comfort to her.
A Celebration of Barb’s life will be held by her family at a later date. Klee Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, PA, is assisting the Gromlich family. www.kleefuneralhome.com
