Betty V. Zerbe Geist

Betty V. Zerbe, 93, of Country Meadows, Wyomissing, passed away February 23, 2018 at 10:31 AM in Reading Hospital Emergency. She was the wife of the late Edgar I. Zerbe, who passed away December 24, 1994. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Dorothy L. (Fry) Geist. Betty was the Administrative Assistant at Edgar I. Zerbe Builder for 37 years, retiring in 1986. A 1941 graduate of Reading High School, Betty was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shillington, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She sang in the Horizon Chorus, was a member of the Sr. Citizens Council and ran trips for the Sr. citizens group at St. John's Church, Mohnton. Betty served the Gov. Mifflin Music Association as a past president. She is survived by her daughter - Mary Beth wife of Robert A. Garman, Mohnton, her grandsons - Graham husband of Jennifer Burch, Perry Hall, MD, Rev. Timothy Garman, Mohnton, Bradley husband of Molly Garman, Glenside, PA, her great grandchildren - Noah & Madeline Burch and her son-in-law - Martin Burch, Bel Air, MD. She was predeceased by her daughter Patricia A. Burch in 2014. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 30 Liberty Street, Shillington, PA 19607. Pastor Tom Reinsel will officiate. Inurnment in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton. Friends may call on Saturday from 10-11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, please honor Betty by making contributions to Grace Ev. Lutheran Church Endowment Fund at the above address.
