Betty Helen Hoffa

Betty H. Hoffa, 82, of Cumru Township, passed away July 14, 2018 at 5:23 PM in the Mifflin Center, Shillington, where she was a guest for 1 day. She was the wife of the late Richard W. \"Dick\" Hoffa, who passed away in 1995. Born in Grill, she was a daughter of the late Clayton C. and Helen M. (Tylka) Hertzog. Betty graduated in 1953 from the former Shillington High School, the last class before they became the Gov. Mifflin School district. After graduation, she worked as a secretary for Travelers Insurance. She then began her career as a machine operator at Bollman Hat Factory, working for 37 years before retiring in 2005. She was a member of Immanuel UCC, Shillington and enjoyed her grandkids, the casinos, football, bowling, bingo and the shore. She like watching horse shows and water polo games. Betty loved helping at the shop, Big Bertha's Grill, and enjoyed meeting all the people there. She is survived by her sons - Richard W. \"Rich\" Hoffa, Jr. and his wife Connie, Hamburg, Dennis C. husband of Tricia Hoffa, Sinking Spring, Barry A. husband of Patricia Hoffa, Shillington, her 5 grandchildren - Kristy Hoffa, Beau Hoffa, Nicole DiBerardino, Casey Hoffa, Joseph C. Hoffa, her 2 great grandchildren - Juliana & Anthony Hoffa and her sister - Margaret Hertzog, Robeson Twp. She was predeceased by her brother - William Hertzog (2013). Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 10-11 AM followed by her funeral service at 11:00 AM from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington.
