Betty J. Keiser, 96, of Shillington, passed away May 20, 2024 in the Reading Hospital where she was a patient.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Robert R. Nagle, Sr. and Mary J. (Berger) Nagle. She was the wife of the late Donald A. Keiser who passed away September 9, 2011.
Betty worked for 15 years at the Governor Mifflin School District in the cafeteria retiring in August 1986 as the manager.
A 1946 graduate of Reading High School, Betty was a member of Immanuel U.C.C. and sang in their choir for many years. She was a former member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was the Sunday School Superintendent. Betty served as the Judge of Elections in the Shillington precinct that voted at Grace Lutheran and later Immanuel Churches. She loved music, especially singing, word searches, jigsaw puzzles, and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her and would give everyone the shirt off of her back to make their life better.
Betty is survived by her children – Eileen C. wife of Paul Knabb, Shillington, Kenneth A. Keiser, Cumru Township, Kenneth’s former wife Deborah E. Keiser, Sinking Spring, Donald L. husband of Deborah A. Keiser, Sinking Spring, Jeffrey L. husband of Dolores Keiser, Reading, her grandchildren – Ryan husband of Rebecca Keiser, Derek husband of Kelly Keiser, Jason husband of Marlaina Keiser, Brian husband of Hyun Keiser, Molly wife of Steven Stasko, Jenny wife of Joel Hunsicker, her six great grandchildren, and her sister Janet N.. Yaklich, Colony Park. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by siblings – Mary McCarraher, Robert R. Nagle, Jr., Dorothy E. Heffner and L. Fern Nagle.
Funeral services from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Megan Huesgen, her pastor, will officiate.
