Betty Ardell Shultz, 94, of Robesonia, joined her loved ones in heaven on May 5th, 2025. She was the widow of James P. Shultz who passed away in August of 2000. Born in 1931 in Mohnton, she was a daughter of the late Martin J. Larsen and Violet D. (Hagy) Larsen/Gould.
During her husband’s commitment to the country, she served as a civilian employee at the Dover Air Force Base, and later served as Tax Collector for North Heidelberg Township for 20 years. She also worked at the Berks County Intermediate Unit for 23 years, retiring in 1991.
Betty was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Sinking Spring, and was active in the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, gardening and traveling. She was a former Den Mother for the Bern Church Cub Pack.
Betty is survived by her three children: Scott M. husband of Sharon (Shartle), Newmanstown, Todd H. husband of Linda (Starkweather), Lewes, DE and Janell V. wife of Andrew P. Harakel, Robesonia. Seven grandchildren, Rebecca wife of Jason Miller, Trevor husband of Danielle Shultz, Matthew Shultz, Christoper husband of Julia Shultz, Megan Shultz, Andrew R. husband of Katherine Harakel, Benjamin Harakel and 10 great grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by her great grandson Gabriel E. Shultz.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 4891 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Pastor Wayne Rissmiller will officiate. Private interment at North Heidelberg Church Cemetery.
