Blondell Gwendolyn “Bobbie” Martin-Turner, 78, of Wyncote, Montgomery County, PA, received her heavenly wings on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, while a patient at Jefferson Abington Hospital, Abington, PA. Born March 3, 1947, in Columbia, SC, she was a beloved daughter of the late Mary (Neal) and Arthur Martin, Jr.
Blondell – affectionately known as “Bobbie” – was a woman whose beautiful smile could brighten any room. She carried a spirit of kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her gentle nature and caring heart defined the way she lived her life.
For many years, Blondell worked faithfully as a phlebotomist at Hahneman Hospital in Philadelphia. She approached every day there with compassion and dedication, caring for each patient with a steady hand and gentle touch. To Blondell, it was more than a job – it was a calling to serve others.
Above all else, Blondell cherished her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her three beautiful children: sons Cornell (Yashika) Martin, Newark, DE, and Nadir Turner, Willow Grove, PA, along with her daughter Zakia Turner, Willow Grove, PA. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Ramona Fowler, IN, her five brothers: Eugene Sanders, and Alfred, Terry, Karl and Anthony Brown, all of Greenville, SC, along with her cherished friend-sister, Sonia McCastle. Her love will continue through her many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Blondell was predeceased by her husband, Robert Turner, and four brothers: Arthur (Butch), Conrad, Thaddeus and Gregory Martin, and two sisters: Cathrine Lake, and Frances (Frank) Foster.
Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Hillcrest Rehabilitation in Wyncote, PA for their deep care and kindness to Blondell, and to her guardian, Kal Doshi, for her continuous support and dedication.
A celebration of Blondell’s life will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in the Chapel of Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA. 19605. Viewing will be held from 12:00-1:00PM in the Chapel. She will be laid to rest in the Cemetery following her service.
