Carrie J. (Smith) Eckert, 87, passed away peacefully June 25, 2025, in her Cumru Township residence. She was a daughter of the late Aaron L. and Eva C. (Shirey) Smith. She was the widow of both Peter Giandomenico and Gerald Eckert, Sr.
Carrie was an accomplished sewing machine operator for Gotham Manufacturing and Wilson Optical, and a self-employed house cleaner for many years, retiring in 2002. She was past president of the Schuylkill Fire Company Auxiliary. Carrie was also a faithful member of Kissingers Bible Church, Wyomissing.
She is survived by her nephews Robert and David Highley, Jr. In addition to her parents and husbands, Carrie was predeceased by her sisters: Grace M. Smith, and Helen Highley, and brother Aaron J. Smith.
A Funeral Service for Carrie will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Viewing from 10:00-11:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mohnsville Cemetery, Mohnton. www.kleefuneralhome.com
