Charles Rapp Obituary

Charles Stuart Rapp, 88, of Mohnton, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Reading Hospital.  Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Ralph and Kathryn (Speece) Rapp, and the husband of Barbara (Smith) Rapp, celebrating an exciting 32 years of marriage together.

Charles lived a life defined by hard work, adventure, and deep devotion to family. A master carpenter, roofer, business owner, and real estate entrepreneur, he built not only structures, but a lifetime of memories and opportunities for those he loved.

Charles was a man of extraordinary energy and talent—a speed skater, Marine sharpshooter, lifeguard, and certified fire diver. His adventurous spirit carried him across the world, and he treasured attending NASCAR races whenever he could. Yet for all his accomplishments, his greatest joy came from his role as husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was among his life’s most cherished moments.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, Charles is survived by his sister, Kim Mitchell (Jim), his children, Michelle Anspach (Charlie), Tracy Rapp (Susan) and Geoff Couris (Diane), and his step children, Tony Fuoti (Lisa) and Andrea Dinatale (Tony), plus his beloved grandchildren:  Lindsay (Mark), Michael, Matthew (Krista), Zachary, Eleni, Tyler, Derek and Maxwell, and his great grandchildren: Ethan, Benjamin, Levi, Sophia, Jalen, Jaxon and Leon.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Elpida “Peete” Rapp.

To honor Charles’ wishes, there will be no formal service or viewing. His final wish is for his ashes to be scattered at Haleakala Crater in Hawaii, a place he held close to his heart.  A Celebration of Life will be held with close friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles’ memory to Victory Junction at https://victoryjunction.org. The Rapp family extends heartfelt thanks to Tony Dinatale (Andrea’s husband) and Carol Kline (Barbara’s sister) for their unwavering support and care.
