Charmaine L. (Fisher) Peters

Charmaine L. Peters, 95, formerly of Reading, passed away October 11, 2023 at the Phoebe Berks Healthcare Center where she was a guest since August 28th.

        Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Ruth L. (Chantrell) Fisher. She was the wife of the late James C. Peters who passed away May 22, 2000.

        Charmaine was an executive secretary at Firestone Tire & Rubber, Pottstown for 18 years. A 1945 graduate of the former Shillington High School, she was a graduate of the former Reading Business School, now McCann’s. She was a faithful member of Immanuel UCC and taught at their summer bible school. She loved the outdoors, was an avid gardener and was the faithful caregiver for her paraplegic husband for over 50 years.  She worked the election polls and was very interested in her party affiliation.

        She is survived by her sister – Dawn A. wife of Rick Burkey, Mohnton, her niece – Rebecca wife of Craig Allardyce, her nephew – Eric husband of Angela Burkey, her great nieces and nephews – Graham, Elizabeth, Michaela and Serena.

        Graveside services in Laureldale Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Megan Huesgen, will be private at the convenience of the family. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. Shillington is assisting the family. www.kleefuneralhome.com
