Clarie E. Cooper, 98, formerly of Cumru Township, passed away August 30, 2024 in the Reading Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Bridgeton, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Max & Minnie (Nelson) Barrer. She was the widow of Randy Horowitz(1956), Joel Goldberg and Robert J. Cooper(2000).
Claire was a 1944 graduate of Reading High School. She enjoyed the theater and performed with the Reading Civic Opera in many of their productions. She was a gourmet cook and enjoyed playing bridge. During her marriage to Bob Cooper, Claire
was very active supporting the Governor Mifflin High School Music Program. After retirement Claire and Bob traveled the world extensively. Her greatest joy came from her family.
She is survived by her children – Marsha L. (Kenneth S. Spatz), Lebanon, David L.B. (Morna Goldberg),York,
her step-children – Holly B. (Carl Altenderfer) Cumru Twp., Scott P. (Terry Cooper), Reading, Robert A. Cooper, Mohnton, Kevin J. (Ellen Cooper),Mohnton, 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Claire was predeceased by her brothers Dr. Harry Barrer and Sid Barrer.
Private services officiated by Rabbi Brian Michelson with entombment in Charles Evans Cemetery. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington, is assisting the Cooper family.
