Dale E. Hoffman, of Cumru Township, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, his 78th birthday, at Penn State Health – St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones. Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Geraldine (Stout) Hoffman, and the loving husband of Barbara J. (Drexel) Hoffman.
A 1966 graduate of West Reading High School, Dale was a veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving in the Army and achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. Dale was also the recipient of the Army “Good Conduct” Medal and Marksman (Rifle).
Dale was employed as a Steelworker for over 41 years at Hofmann Industries, Sinking Spring, before retiring.
A car enthusiast who took great pride in his Chevy Blazers, Dale was a member of the Pennwyn Motor Association and the Boulevard Knights CC. He was also a life member of the VFW.
In addition to his wife Barb, Dale is survived by his two sons, Thomas Hoffman, Wyomissing, and Jason Hoffman, Mohnton, and his stepson Scott Wright, husband of Ashley, Robesonia. Also surviving are three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and a nephew. He was predeceased by a stepsister, Janice Huyett.
Funeral services for Dale will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. www.kleefuneralhome.com
