David T. Fioravante
David T. \"Dave\" Fioravante, 85, of Shillington, passed away on September 26th, 2018 at the Highlands Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Reading, PA on June 11, 1933, David was the son of the late Anthony and Jennie (Pepe) Fioravante. He is survived by his three children: son Craig Fioravante, wife Shannon, Mohnton, PA; daughter Christine Priest, husband Joseph, Reading, PA; son Steven Fioravante, wife Lisa, Shillington, PA; five grandchildren: Angela (Kendall) Rodriguez, husband Confessor, Sinking Spring, PA; Kyle Kendall, Mohnton, PA; Maison Fioravante, Shillington, PA; Nicholas Fioravante, Mohnton, PA; Michael Fioravante, Mohnton, PA; three great-grandchildren: Julianna, Robert & Antonio Rodriguez, Sinking Spring, PA; and one sister, Rosemarie Fioravante, San Diego, CA.
\"Feet\", as he was known by his high school classmates, was a 1951 graduate of Shillington High School, and attended Kutztown State Teachers College.
In 1959, \"Mr. Available\" started the Fioravante Insurance Agency, Shillington, PA, retiring from the business in 2013. He was one of the founding members of the Shillington Business Association and served as president of that organization for many years.
Dave, \"the Coach\", was involved for over 45 years, as both a player & coach, with many different local amateur softball and basketball teams. His efforts touched many lives, and he was recognized as the 1996 \"Sportsman of the Year\" by the Berks Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. His passion for sports also included him being a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and his love of horse racing. He was a lifetime member of the Reading Berks Basketball Association.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday October 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, 42 Kerrick Rd, Shillington. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening for friends & family from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington.
