David P. Johnson

        David P. Johnson, 72, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, in his Shillington home with his loving wife Dianne M. (Koch) by his side.  Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Paul K. and Jeanne M. (Speck) Johnson.  He and Dianne would have celebrated 40 years of marriage in September.

        A graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, David earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kutztown University and worked for more than 20 years at CarTech before retiring.  He was a history buff, especially when it came to Gettysburg and World War II, and enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia and Reading Phillies.

        David is survived by three children: daughter Tara L. Thomas (Garth), York, and sons Kevin M. Filbert, Hazelton, and Brian T. Filbert, companion of Karen, South Abington Township, plus five adoring grandchildren: Christa, Justin, Riley, Kennedy and Matthew.

        He is also survived by an aunt, Phoebe Johnson, Chicago, and cousins Doug Johnson, Royersford and Dennis Johnson, Chicago.  David was predeceased by a brother, Thomas P. Johnson, in 2023.

        A Memorial Service for David will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Klee Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, PA with Pastor Russell Weidel officiating.
