Doris A. Novak, 91, of Muhlenberg, passed away September 14, 2023 at 7:30 AM at Rittenhouse Village. She was a resident since January 2022.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Paul W. and Edith M. (Bachman) Craley. She was the wife of the late Lawrence A. Novak who passed away Dec. 31, 2013. They were together for 40 years and celebrated 25 years of marriage prior to Larry’s passing. He was the love of her life.
Doris was a 1950 graduate of the former Shillington High School. Doris was a member of the former Calvary U.M. Church in Berkshire Heights. She enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, gardening in her bare feet and loved dachshunds. Doris was always on the move and brought energy into every room she entered.
She is survived by her children: Michael A. Emerich, Mohnton, JoAnn wife of James Gresham, Womelsdorf, Tracey P. Iezzi, Pittsburgh, Becky A. wife of Paul Snyder Jr., Wyomissing, her brother – Laurence husband of Gloria Craley, Ephrata, her grandchildren – Bonnie Jo wife of Stanley Kanavins, Erin Moore Harris, Thomas Ross, Jr. husband of Jennifer, Jamie L. wife of J.P. Smith, 5 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her daughter-in-law – Carol A. Emerich, Brecknock Twp. She was predeceased by her son – Garth W. Sparr (2023) and a brother Paul Craley.
Funeral services from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave, Shillington, on Monday, September 18th, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jeffrey Hain will officiate the service. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Viewing will be on Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
