Elaine K. Laws, 89, of Wyomissing, passed away December 23, 2025 in her residence with her loving family by her side.

          Born in Lebanon, PA she was a daughter of the late Eugene Leroy & Miriam Bland (Kupp) Hershey Walter. She was the wife of Ronald K. Laws with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. They were married May 20, 1956 at Windsor Street Methodist Church in Reading, PA.

          She was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington. While at Immanuel, she taught Sunday School for many years, served as both an elder and deacon, and was Consistory President. She served as a Parish visitor, hospital visitor and as a Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Bell Choir since its inception, retiring after 25 years. She served as Past Worthy Advisor for the Reading Assembly No. 33, International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

          Elaine worked at Premium Beverage Packers, formerly A-Treat Beverages and retired from Arner’s Restaurant, Wyomissing.

          In addition to her husband Ron, left to cherish her memory are her children – Jennifer L. Laws Kerchner wife of Thomas W. Kerchner of Bernville, Michael David Laws husband of Jan M. Oulds-Laws, Reinholds, grandchildren – Kristin N. wife of Kyle Benevit, Jessica L. Kerchner, Erika T. Laws, Evan R. Laws, great grandchildren – Logan B. Benevit and Olivia B. Benevit. There is also her brother – Richard K. Walter husband of Judy Walter of Adams, TN. She was predeceased by her brother Henry E. Hershey husband of Barbara Evans Hershey.

          A Celebration of Elaine’s Life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 99 S. Waverly Street, Shillington, PA 19607. The family will receive friends and relatives immediately following her service in Fellowship Hall. Interment will be private in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington. In lieu of flowers, please remember Elaine by contributing to the Immanuel UCC Memorial Fund at the above address.
