Eleanor V. (Butcavage) Brown

        Eleanor V. (Butcavage) Brown, 91, of Shillington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Reading, following a lengthy illness.  Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Victoria (Sobolesky) Butcavage.  Eleanor was predeceased by two beloved husbands, Alfred D. Coringrato, and Charles F. Brown, Jr.

        A graduate of Minersville High School, Eleanor pursued a career in nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse after graduating from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.  A compassionate and dedicated caregiver throughout her life, she provided care to countless patients while serving at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Reading, Wernersville State Hospital, the former Wyomissing Lodge, and the Berks County Prison.

        Outside of her profession, Eleanor enjoyed life’s quieter pleasures.  She was an avid reader and found great joy and relaxation in knitting. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and devotion to others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.  

        Eleanor is survived by her loving daughter, Linda M. Haller, wife of Steve, and her son, Alfred G. Coringrato, husband of Anita.  She was also the proud and devoted grandmother of James Coringrato and Luke Cyphers, who brought her much happiness.

        In addition to her parents and husbands, Eleanor was predeceased by her daughter, Vickie Updegrave, and two brothers, Stanley and Joseph.  Services will be private at the convenience of her family.
