Gene Shakespeare Obituary

Gene W. Shakespeare, 66, of Mohnton, passed away May 18, 2023 at 11:10 Pm in the Emergency room at the Reading Hospital.

        Born in West Reading, he was a son of Elizabeth Marie (Wanner) Shakespeare, Mohnton and the late Eugene W. Shakespeare. He was the husband of Lisa R. (Elk) Shakespeare with whom he shared 9 years of marriage.

        Gene served in the U.S. Army and was a municipal worker for the Borough of Shillington for 47 years, retiring Sept. 30, 2021. A graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, he was a member of the Reading Motorcycle Club, the Pennwyn Club, and was a life member of the Mohnton Fish & Game Assn. He enjoyed hunting, drag racing, motorcycles, R.C. Cars and fixing just about anything. He loved being with his brother and considered his wife, Lisa, his biggest hobby.

        Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his children – Autumn Carroll, at home, Tina Shakespeare, Mohnton, Bobbi Jo Rolon, Lancaster, his siblings – Dean R. Shakespeare fiancé of Laure Wasylak, Fleetwood, Angela wife of Todd Troupe, Mohnton, and his grandchildren – Skyla and Julia Shakespeare, and Alicea, Jose, and Christian Rolon.
