Grace A. (Hafer) Walter, 92, of Cumru Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026, in Maidencreek Place, where she had resided, surrounded by loving family. Born in Stony Creek Mills, PA on New Years Day 1934, she was the last surviving of eleven children born to Bertha H. (Seidel) and Raymond A. Hafer, Sr.
She shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Donald E. Walter, who passed in 2019, and her family takes great comfort knowing they are reunited again after so many years together.
Grace graduated from the former Mount Penn High School. Forever a respected leader and hard worker, she spent over 20 years as a Supervisor at Berkshire Knitting Mills, West Reading, before retiring.
Grace is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, who simply adored their Aunt Grace, including John R. Hafer, Laura Hafer, widow of Charles Hafer, Jr., Beverly Thomas, Jr., widow of Robert Thomas, Jr., and Shelly Freedson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was predeceased by her five brothers: Charles, Raymond, Elton, Harold and Arthur, and five sisters: Martha Garrett, Fern Lincoln, Betty Janov, Esther Teter, and Virginia Manel, along with a niece, Linda Gilienfeld.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30PM on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Forest Hills Memorial Park, where Grace will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington, is honored to care for Grace and her family during this difficult time. www.kleefuneralhome.com
