Heather L. Graeff, 66, of Spring Township, passed away August 17, 2024 at the M D Anderson Regional Care Center, Houston, TX with her family by her side.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Shirley Faye (Whitehead) Wieder, Wernersville and the late Ronald James Wieder. She was the loving wife of Jeffrey S. Graeff with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.
She was a member of Calvary UCC, Reading.
Surviving in addition to her mother and husband are her daughters – Melissa L. wife of Jared Kanavins, Ashley L. wife of Michael Adam, both of Wyomissing, her grandchildren – Adalyn and Caleesi Kanavins, Wrenley and Wyatt Adam and her mother-in-law – Joan R. Graeff, Wernersville. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother – Bradley J. Wieder in 2014.
Heather is a 1975 graduate of Governor Mifflin. Post graduation she attended and graduated from the McCann School of Business. Her first position post-graduation was with Security of America. She later worked for the Narrow Fabric Corporation in Wyomissing. She completed her working career at Tower Health in the Cancer Protocol Department. She retired from there in 2014 to help attend to her grandchildren.
She loved traveling, especially her many trips to the Caribbean. In between trips she also loved spending time at the family’s beach house in Brigantine, New Jersey with her beloved family. Nothing was more important to her than her family and especially her four grandchildren as she was affectionately known as Grammy.
Heather was the most caring, loving individual anyone could imagine. She was always more concerned about everyone else than herself. Even as illness made it difficult for her to personally attend to others or care about others it didn’t stop her from directing others to do so in her place.
She very much appreciated the words of encouragement during her year and a half battle with her disease via her Caring Bridge page or through direct communications. She was always insistent that everyone that loved her was kept abreast of her journey.
A Celebration of Heather’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel UCC, 99 S. Waverly St., Shillington, PA. The Reverend Megan Huesgen and Pastor Steve Ohnsman will officiate. The family will receive family and friends at a reception immediately following the service.
