Isabel F. (Potts) Kennedy Spuhler, 95, went home to be with the Lord from her earthly residence at The Highlands at Wyomissing, on February 26, 2017. She was the beloved widow of both Col. George L. Spuhler (ret.) and Francis M. Kennedy, who predeceased her in 2015 and 1987, respectfully. She and George were married for 26 years. She was married to Frank for 46 years. Born in Reading, PA, on August 9, 1921, Isabel (Izi) was the daughter of the late Carlos G. and Stella (Yeager) Potts. She graduated from Reading High School in 1939. Isabel was predeceased by her adored sisters: Ruth M. Kennedy, Jean L. Fraunfelter, and Grace Y. Vaughn. Isabel was an active and lifelong member of Calvary Reformed Church of the United Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and participated in the church bowling league. She managed the office for the Reading Box Company for over 20 years and was past president of the Oakbrook Grade School Parent/Teacher Association. Since retiring, Isabel enjoyed traveling (visiting 33 countries), playing bridge, and being with her family. Isabel is survived by two children: Sarah Jane Kennedy, of Yardley, PA, and Stuart D. Kennedy (husband of Pamela), Reading, PA. Her son, Steven F. Kennedy predeceased her. Also surviving are two stepdaughters: Annette Rohloff and Larraine Abate; three grandchildren: Bradley Kennedy, Ian Kennedy, and Crystalyn Kennedy Knepp, their spouses, four great grandchildren and large, loving component of nieces and nephews. Granddaughter SomerLyn Kennedy predeceased her. She will be missed but lovingly remembered and honored by family and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington. Rev. Stephen Ohnsman will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106
