James T. Kreider

       James T. Kreider, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in his Mohnton home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Elwood Kreider and Louise Shaub, wife of Russell Shaub. He was married for 55 incredibly wonderful years to his beloved wife, Linda K. (Woerner) Kreider.

        Jim grew up on the family farm near Lancaster, where he learned the value of hard work at a very young age. He later took great pride in his dedicated career as a foundry maintenance worker for J. Walter Miller Co. in Lancaster. Ever selfless, Jim was always willing to help anyone in need with any task and did so without ever complaining.

        Jim was a sweet, gentle man with a terrific personality and a joy for life that was felt by everyone who knew him. He loved many things, especially his beautiful, bright red 1967 Pontiac GTO, which he proudly drove with Linda to car shows to “show it off.” He considered himself a math whiz, yet he was equally at home outdoors—whether tending to his backyard, riding his John Deere tractor, or traveling to Buxton, NC, to jump the waves with his loving grandchildren.

        Jim found happiness in every season of life. He treasured family time at the beach, from Ocean City, MD, to the shores of the Outer Banks, and delighted in skiing the slopes with his sons and family, as well as sledding through the woods during the winter months. Sundays often found him cheering on his favorite NFL team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. An accomplished bowler, Jim bowled for many years in the Wednesday leagues at Berks Lanes. He and Linda also cherished their travels to Barcelona, Spain, to visit their son while he lived there.

        In addition to his wife, Linda, Jim is survived by his sons, Aaron Kreider, husband of Rebecca, of Mohnton, and Bradley Kreider, husband of Suzanne, of New Jersey. The true lights of his life were his grandchildren: Adam, Aaron (fiancé of Sharese), Brian, Juno, and Keenan, as well as his great-granddaughter, Nova.  They will all miss their beloved Pop/Poppy.  He is also survived by his brothers, Kirk Shaub and Robert Shaub, and his sister, Grace Shaub.
