James D. Neidermyer, Sr., 81, of Blandon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Sinking Spring Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where he had resided. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the last surviving of seven children born to the late Esther Mae (Peiffer) and Paul H. Neidermyer. He was married for nearly 37 years to his loving wife, Jeanne Ann (Epright) Neidermyer.
Jim attended Cocalico High School and was the owner/operator of James Neidermyer Poultry for 39 years, retiring in 2017. He loved music, playing his accordion and keyboard, and was well-known as a DJ for Christian radio station WDAC in Lancaster.
Jim was deeply religious and was a former member of both Kissinger’s Church, where he was an elder and Bible study teacher, and Alsace Lutheran Church, where he served on Church Council, was Sunday School superintendent and taught adult classes. Most recently, he was a faithful member of Riverview Christian Church, and a member of the Men’s Group.
More than anything, Jim loved spending time with his family and found solace in bike rides through the countryside, and long walks closer to home.
In addition to his beloved wife Jeanne, Jim is survived by sons, James D. Neidermyer, Jr., husband of Shelly of Live Oak, FL, and Jeffrey L. Neidermyer, husband of Melinda of Sinking Spring, as well the true joys of his life, his grandchildren: Chris, Eric, Preston, Hannah, Alex and Evan.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his two sisters, Evelyn and Maryann, and four brothers, Paul, Buddy, Carl and Fred.
A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00AM on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Riverview Christian Church, 3301 Stoudt’s Ferry Bridge Road, Reading, PA 19605, with a Service to follow at 11:00AM. Pastors Dr. John Letterman, Jr. and Pat Kenna will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring. Those attending Jim's service are requested to wear bright colors.
