Janet May Freeston, 90, of Spring Township, passed away February 3, 2024, at the Berks Heim Nursing Home.
She was the loving husband of the late John (Bill) W. Freeston. They celebrated 62 years of marriage. Born in Centralia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert L. and Kathryn (Wayne) Clews and the sister of the late James F. Clews, husband of the late Peg Clews, and the late Raymond H. Clews, husband of the late Pat Clews.
Janet was a 1952 graduate of Pottsville High School. In addition, she is survived by her sons, James P. Freeston of Spring Township, J. William Freeston, husband of April Zhou Freeston of South Heidelberg Township and grandson Joe W. Freeston.
She worked for F.M. Brown’s and Sons Tack Shop for 13 years, retiring in 1991. In addition, she was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star PA, a member of the Wilson School Booster Club and a past den mother for Cub Scout Pack 431, West Lawn.
Janet was an avid bird watcher, a passionate Phillies and Eagles Fan and loved Ocean City, NJ.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10-11AM followed by her service starting at 11:00 AM from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Pastor Jayme Babczak will officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
