John Jasinski Obituary

John S. Jasinski, 86, formerly of Shillington, passed away June 25, 2017 at 12:55 PM in Country Meadows of Wyomissing, where he was a guest. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Stanley J. and Victoria (Coats) Jasinski. He was predeceased by his wives Doris (Mohler) Jasinski and Doris (Siegfried) Jasinski. He was an Air Force veteran serving in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a Major in the PA Air National Guard serving for over 30 years in aircraft maintenance. He was stationed with the 148th Fighter Squadron and later moving to Harrisburg International Airport with the 193rd. After being discharged from the PA Air Nat'l Guard he worked for the Federal Gov't - DCAS. He was a 1949 graduate of Shillington High School and attended Wyomissing Poly Technical Institute. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, boating and motor scooter riding. John attended Officer Candidate School. He is survived by his daughters - Barbara wife of Kent E. DeMoss, Mohnton, Donna wife of Joseph M. Melnic, Middletown, his step children - Kent E. husband of Barbara DeMoss, Mohnton and Kimber Connelly wife of James Axe, Hershey. There are also 6 grandchildren - Lauren wife of James Michaud, Dr. Christin DeMoss, Bryana Melnic, Jonah Melnic, Heather wife of Dustin Grab, Lindsey Connelly. There is also a great grandchild on the way. He was predeceased by his brothers - Robert Joseph Jasinski. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM in Klee Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Rev. Victor A. Kroninger, Jr., his classmate, will officiate. Interment with military honors in Wyomissing Cemetery, Gouglersville. Friends may call on Sunday from 12:30 - 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
