Joseph "Joe" James Kress

Joseph John \"Joe\" Kress, 98, of Lake Wales, FL, formerly of Shillington, passed away October 26, 2017 in Life Care Center of Winter Haven, FL. He was the husband of Sara A. (Eiler) Kress, with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Anna A. (Samsel) Kress. He moved to Florida 24 years ago. Joe worked as a salesman for Progress Electric, Reading until retirement. He was of the catholic faith and was an accomplished musician, playing the accordion with the Leo Brailor Trio. He served his country during WW II in the US Army in the south pacific theater. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter - Elizabeth Miller of Lancaster, his step-son - Stanley husband of Kathleen Fitterling of Wyomissing and his 4 grandchildren - Stanley W., Katherine A., Joseph Lee and Samuel Augustus. He was predeceased by his brothers Frances J.A. and Paul. Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Klee Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., 1 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Funeral procession will depart promptly on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at 9:00 AM from Klee Funeral Home.
