Karl Schleinkofer Obituary

Karl B. Schleinkofer, 67, of Shillington, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away May 9, 2023 in the Reading Hospital where he was a patient.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Arthur J. and Marie R. (Boess) Schleinkofer. He was the husband of Marion C. (Hyde) Schleinkofer. Karl was an exceptional husband of 30 years, whose kindness, love, and helpfulness knew no bounds.

He was a graduate of North Catholic High School and attendedKansas State. An incredible father, he always made time for his family and caring for them with all his heart. His generosity extended to his loved ones and everyone he knew, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of meeting him. His work ethic was unparalleled, as he typically worked 4-5 jobs to provide for his family. Some of his recent workplaces include the Temple Diner, Wyomissing Family Restaurant, Michael’s in Douglassville, the Route 61 Diner, and the Heidelberg Diner, among others. His baking was unmatched, and he was especially known for his cheesecakes and cookies. In fact, he won the award for Best Cheesecake in Philadelphia while working at Aramingo Diner, and even Taylor Swift raved about his cheesecake from the Wyomissing Diner.

Karl was also a skilled FIDA chess master, with some of his games being published. Above all, Karl will be remembered for his smile and his quick-witted, friendly personality. Being a loud, charismatic person, he would talk to anyone he met and made them laugh in the process. Everyone he touched will mourn this loss together and he will be deeply missed.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife are his children – Karl A. Schleinkofer, Hatboro, Erik W. Schleinkofer, Round Rock, TX, Shane E. Schleinkofer, Shillington, Andrea L. Schleinkofer, Phila, Stephanie Schleinkofer, FL, Alexis M. Schleinkofer, Shillington, his siblings – Arthur E. Schleinkofer, Jr. husband of Pam, Allentown, Francis Schleinkofer husband of Sharon, Rockledge, Donna Schofield, Theresa Schleinkofer, both of Phila., and 8 grandchildren. He was predeceased by bothers –Michael and Christopher Schleinkofer.
