Kathryn L. (Dease) Eckroth

Kathryn L. Eckroth, 91, formerly of Alsace Township, passed away July 21, 2023 at 10:21 AM in Berks Heim where she was a guest.

        Born in Reading, she was the last of nine children of the late Earl & Emma (Heister) Dease. She was the wife of the late Robert G. Eckroth who passed away May 20, 2020. They celebrated 69 years of marriage prior to his passing.

        Kathryn worked in the 1970’s as a cashier at Boscov’s, and later as an office worker for Meridian Bank before retiring. A member of Spies-Zion Lutheran Church, Alsace Township, Kathryn enjoyed cake decorating, baking and sewing.

        Surviving are her sons – James A. husband of Debra Eckroth, Wyomissing, Scott M. husband of Catherine Eckroth, Riverview Park, her eight grandchildren, her fourteen great grandchildren and her two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Kenneth R. Eckroth, who passed on January 16, 1998 and by her siblings – Earl, Carl, Richard, Charlie & Gene Dease, Mary Piefer, Margaret Wanner and Sarah Hetrick.

        Funeral services from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster, Shillington, on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Rebecca Knox, her pastor, will officiate. Entombment in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Twp. Visitation on Friday from 9:30-10:00 AM at the funeral home.
