Kenneth Arthur Carpenter

Kenneth Arthur Carpenter, 81, of Cumru Township, passed away September 21, 2023 at 10:20 AM at his residence.

        Born in Ephrata, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Marion I. (Mohler) Carpenter. He was the loving husband of Peggy A. (Schwab) Carpenter.

        Kenneth graduated from Manheim Township High School in 1960.  He was the supervisor of the former S.E. Nichols Discount City store – working there for 30 years. He served his country in the US Army, stationed in Germany in the early 1960’s.  and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan along with Penn State and Liberty University.

        In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children – Richard “Rick” husband of Debra Carpenter, Cornwall, R. Scott husband of Renee Carpenter, Tomball, TX and Katelynn G. wife of Bryan Focht, Laurel MD.  his brother – Robert and Martina Carpenter, West Chester PA, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

        Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville PA  17003.  Pastor Lisa Hoopes will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Kenneth's honor to Special Olympics Pennsylvania, 2570 Boulevard of the Generals - Suite 124, Norristown PA  19403 or the Charity of your Choice.  The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington, is assisting the Carpenter family. www.kleefuneralhome.com
