LeRoy Dodge Cressy Jr., 93, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 18, 2026. He passed away peacefully in the home he shared with his daughter Sue and son-in-law Jim, of Bluffton, South Carolina. He would tell everyone that he was born the day beer came back at the end of Prohibition.
“Roy” was originally from Philadelphia, Pa. He graduated from Frankford High School, Philadelphia. He attended Temple University in Philadelphia.
Roy was the husband of the late Sibylla Crooks Cressy; they shared 68 years of marriage. He was the son of LeRoy Dodge Cressy and Bertha Roslie Lange Cressy of Philadelphia. Joining the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed a 38-year career with Sun Pipeline Company, retiring in 1989.
He was enormously proud of his Masonic affiliations, as a young man joining DeMolay International; He was a member of Howell Lodge No. 405 Honeybrook, Pa of Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite, Reading, Pa. Rajah Shrine, Blandon, Pa. Serving as Potentate in 1992, Rajah Legion of Honor, serving as Finance Officer, Past President of Brandywine Shrine Club, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 251 Reading, Pa. and Royal Order of Jesters Allentown Court #128.
Boy Scout Troop #390, Philadelphia, Pa serving as Scout Master for many years. Past President Sunoco White Apron Club. He enjoyed many other clubs and interests, including but not limited to fishing, model railroading, he loved playing Chess.
Roy is survived by his four children, LeRoy Cressy husband of Rita, Susan Hurrell Martin, wife of James, William Cressy husband of Barbara, and Linda Geckle. His Grandchildren, Ashley Moyer, Brandon Cressy and Ben Cressy, Lauren Hurrell (deceased). His Great Grandchildren: Isis Layton, McKenzie and Ronan Cressy. Additionally, he enjoyed his brother and traveling buddy, George Robert Cressy, along with several cousins.
