It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Rose (Scholl) Frees, beloved mother, devoted wife, and friend to all, who passed away on October 16, 2024, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV, after a brief illness at the age of 74. Born on August 15, 1950, Linda epitomized warmth and kindness. She dedicated her life to her family and friends, nurturing her two children, Scott, and Michelle, with unwavering support. Her deep love for her husband, James, was evident in their 52 years together, filled with shared joy and companionship. Linda’s home was always filled with love and laughter, where she created countless cherished memories.
She is survived by her loving husband James S. Frees; her cherished children, son Scott A. Spohn (Beth) and daughter Michelle L. Spohn; her grandson Zachary S. Geisinger; her stepson James E. Frees; step-granddaughter Anastasia Trite; brother-in-law David L. Frees (Brenda), along with a host of friends and family who will forever remember her infectious laughter and generous spirit. She was predeceased by her mother, Virginia R. Mick; her beloved grandmother, Ruth E. Swisher; and her father, Walter Dziamba. Linda will be profoundly missed by her daughter Michelle with whom she shared a special bond as well as her best friend of 42 years, Lori Sue O’Neill.
Linda was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School and spent most of her life in Leesport, PA. In 2012, she and her husband, Jim, moved to The Villages, Florida, where they enjoyed eleven wonderful years before relocating to Holleran Heights, West Virginia, in August 2023.
A dedicated member of Bellemans Church in Mohrsville, PA, for many years, Linda became a part of New Covenant United Methodist Church while living in The Villages.
Linda cherished her time spent traveling, especially on trips to Canada and the Jersey Shore, where she loved deep-sea fishing. She and Jim also enjoyed cruising to various destinations and spending time at their cabin in Bradford County, PA, where she delighted in feeding the bears and deer.
A memorial service will be held at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services., Inc. One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11 AM. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM in the funeral home. A celebration of Linda’s life will take place at a later date.
