Lois Gassert Obituary

Lois A. Gassert, 60, of Mohnton, passed away January 31, 2017 in her residence with her loving family and close friends by her side. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Jeanette E. (Blimline) Keffer and the late Howard \"Boog\" Keffer, Jr. Lois worked as a donor resource coordinator for Miller-Keystone Blood Center for 12 years, last working December 2016. She had previously worked as a secretary at Singer Equipment for 21 years. She attended GT Church, Spring Township and was a 1974 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. She was a former member of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Group, also known as \"The Chamber Buddies\". Lois was a member of the Mohnton Lions Club and Ontelaunee Grange. She loved the beach with her friends, socializing & networking, peanut butter ice cream, the Phillies, gardening and collecting scarfs. Helping people was her true passion and hand baking pumpkin bread, that was known throughout the county. Surviving in addition to her mother is her son - Josh E. Mitchell companion of Laurie Bowen, Shillington, her boyfriend Craig Gibson, Wyomissing, her step-son - Christopher husband of Gretchyn Gassert, Mohnton, her brother - Alan L. Keffer companion of Rondelle Lorah, Shillington, her nieces - Caitlyn & Samantha, her nephew - Kyle, her step grandchildren - Madisyn & Austin, Marvin and her special friends of 55 years - Lee Ann, Mary Jo, Diane & Lisa. There are also many loving and caring cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Pastor Brian Koch will officiate. Private interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring. Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Please remember Lois by making contributions to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 or the Miller-Keystone Blood Center, 1465 Valley Center Parkway, Bethlehem, PA 18017. \"Those planning to attend should wear their favorite scarfs or your best Phillies attire in her honor.\"
