Luther D. Ulrich, Jr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in his Cumru Township home, with his loving wife Shirley Mae (Weidner) by his side. He and Shirley enjoyed 67 years of marriage and were inseparable. Born in Reading, Luther was the son of the late Sarah S. (Keffer) and Luther D. Ulrich, Sr.
Luther worked for many years at Redcay Hat Factory, Adamstown, PA, and was Warehouse Manager at Griffith and Bixler Furniture, Knauers, PA, for 25 years, retiring in 1999. He was a life member of the Grill and Kenhorst Fire Companies and a former trustee of the Adamstown Rod & Gun Club. In his free time, Luther enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and farming his land, and was an accomplished Shuffleboard player.
In addition to Shirley, Luther is survived by their three children: sons Dennis D. Ulrich, husband of Barbara, and Darrell D. Ulrich, husband of Andrea, both of Cumru Township, and daughter Doreen D. Grumbling, wife of Jeff, Denver, PA. Also cherishing his memory are his three grandchildren: Jayson Ulrich and his wife Kailey, Rebecca Gilbert and her husband Charles and Daniel Ulrich and his wife Connie; five Great Grandsons: Troy, Andy, Samuel, and twins Daniel and Zachary, and two Great-Great Grandchildren Ivory and Madison. He will also be dearly missed by his constant companion and faithful dog Bella.
Luther was predeceased by four sisters: Elsie Heilman, Stella Keffer, Honey Keffer, and Margaret Eyrich.
Funeral services from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, on Tuesday at 2:00 PM with a viewing from 1:00-2:00pm. Rev. Dr. Robert A.
