Margaret L. (Bowman) Gechter, 93, formerly of Kenhorst, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, in Columbia Cottage Wyomissing, where she resided. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Mary (Demming) and Alvin Bowman, and the devoted wife of the late Harry W. Gechter, Jr., with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage filled with love, faith, and family.
A loving homemaker throughout her life, Margaret dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. She found great joy in cooking family meals, celebrating holidays, tending to her home, and spending cherished time with her children, grandson, and great-granddaughter. Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love, grace, and devotion that will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
She is survived by her loving children: Rick Lee Gechter of Seminole, FL husband of Donna, Deborah L. Gehard of Cedar Top, wife of Jake, and Patricia A. Gilmer of Shillington; her cherished grandson James Gilmer, husband of Hannah, and great granddaughter Margot Gilmer, as well as her brother-in-law, Gary L. Gechter of North Carolina. In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was predeceased by two sisters: Barbara and Evelyn.
