Maria Rivera-Pineda, 67, of Reading, formerly of Yonkers, NY, passed away February 24, 2024, at 10:24 AM in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Rivera-Declet and Maria Rivera-Laboy. She was the wife of Guillermo A. Pineda, Sr., with whom she shared 50 years.
She was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Church, Yonkers, NY and St. Peter’s Church, Reading, PA. She worked in the bakery at Shop-Rite, Yonkers, for 30 years, retiring in 2019. Maria had great faith in God and led a selfless life to set an example of a kind human being sharing love. She was a family-oriented person, always wanting the family to stay together. She loved her church, family, and especially her husband.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children – Lizandra M. Pineda wife of Juan Pozo, Melanie Pineda wife of Damon Goode, Guillermo A. Pineda, Jr. husband of Shallianes Lopez, Nigel Pineda, her sisters – Carmencita Rivera, Julia Rivera wife of Geraldo Felix, 19 grandchildren, Crystal Pozo, Anthony Pozo & Emmanuel Pineda who she raised as her own, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
If you would like to be part of our last goodbyes, her viewing will be on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 2:00-5:00 PM at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. The funeral service begins at 2:30 PM officiated by Rev. Juan Eduardo Rodriguez.
