Marvin E. Hill, 86, of Wernersville, passed away January 11, 2018 at 3:22 AM in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Hessinger) Hill who passed away October 9, 2009. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary before her passing. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Ella M. (Boyer) Hill. Marv started working at Arnold's Bookbindery as a supervisor for 12 years and later was the owner of the former Hill's Cleaning Service for 20 years. He lastly worked as a valet at the Reading Hospital for 10 years, retiring in 2004. He served his country in the US Army. Marv was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Sinking Spring and served as a member of their consistory. He was a member of Isaac Hiester Lodge No. 660 F&AM and Rajah Shrine. At Rajah, Marv served as Outer Guard, Captain of the Guard, Membership Chairman, Past Commander in 1991 of their Legion of Honor and played drums with their Concert Band. Having a keen interest in woodworking, Marv designed the float that the LOH currently uses at Rajah. In his early days Marv played drums with the Reading Buccaneers and their Alumni group. Surviving is his 3 children - Deborah J. wife of Gene Bowers, Wernersville, Donna L. wife of Kerry Bampton, Laureldale, Todd A. husband of Cindy Hill, West Lawn, his sister - Marilyn \"Susie\" wife of Jere Lesher, Elizabethtown and his grandchildren - Nicholas, Stacy, Allison and Tyler. He was predeceased by his brother J. Richard Hill on June 25, 2015. Friends and relatives may call on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at St. John's Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring. Masonic service by Isaac Hiester Lodge No. 660 at 11:30 AM followed by his funeral service. Rev. Robert Ziehmer, his pastor, will officiate. Interment with military honors will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
