MaryEllen Rose (Whitecavage) Zawaski

MaryEllen Rose Zawaski, 92, of Reading, passed away August 24, 2023 in her residence with her loving family by her side.

        Born in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Stanley & Sophie (Sweedock) Whitecavage. She was the wife of the late John L. Zawaski who passed away July 25, 1974.

        MaryEllen was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School and McCann’s School of Business. She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park and enjoyed cross-stitch and reading.

        She is survived by her children – Marlene Eisenhard, Schuylkill County, John L. Zawaski, Jr. husband of Lorah, Cumru Township, Carol A. widow of Ronald Kercher, Leesport, David husband of Danell Zawaski, Pittsburgh, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings – Stanley, Henry, Joe, Eddie, Leo, Francis, Genevieve, Blanche and Dorothy.
