Melissa M. Sauer, 43, of Shillington, passed away June 6, 2023 at Penn State Health-St. Joseph where she was a patient since Saturday.

        Born in Reading, she was the daughter of C. Theodore “Ted” Sauer of Shillington and the late Susan J. (Gerber) Linderman.

        Melissa was a CNA working at various nursing homes throughout Berks County. She loved her family and friends and had a love for all animals especially dogs, cats and birds. She liked music, collecting rocks, crafting her own jewelry and horror movies.

        Surviving in addition to her father is her step-mother – Bonnie L. (Rowe) Sauer, Shillington, her maternal Grandmother – Doris C. (Hains) widow of Robert L. Gerber, Sinking Spring, her children – Scott D. Stevenson, Jr., husband of Kiana, Surprise, AZ, Braxton Oswalt, Kyra Oswalt, both of Reading, her step-brothers – Zachary Berg, J.D. Berg, both of Shillington, several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was especially close to her Aunt Barb.
