Michael G. Barnett

Michael G. Barnett, 61, of Exeter Township, passed away June 14, 2023 at 11:47 PM in the Reading Hospital where he was a patient since Monday.

        Born in Reading, he was a son of the late William R. and Jean L. (Sowers) Barnett. He was the husband of Michelle D. (Elliott) Barnett with whom he celebrated 39 years of marriage.

        Michael worked as a machine operator for 31 years at Surgical Specialty until 2015 when they relocated. He was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1979 and a graduate of McCann’s School of Business. A former member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, he enjoyed listening to music, going to concerts, and spending time with his grandchildren.

        In addition to his loving wife Michelle, he is survived by his sons – Trevor M. husband of Donna R. Barnett, Exeter Township, Nathan M. Barnett companion of Penny Belleville, Portland, Maine, his brothers – William widower of Linda Barnett, Arlington, Texas, Steven widower of Linda Barnett, Birdsboro, Gary Barnett, Flying Hills, his grandchildren – Leland M. Barnett, Gunner T. Barnett, Nathan M. Barnett, Jr., Natalie Barnett, many sisters & brothers-in-law, and many nieces & nephews.

        A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Tuckerton. The Rev. Karey Schaffer will officiate.
