Michael J. Koskoski, PhD, 78 of Wyomissing, formerly of Pine Street, Shillington, passed away May 12, 2017 at 1:30 AM in the skilled care unit of The Highlands at Wyomissing, where he was a guest for 1 month. He was the loving husband of Elma (Stoudt) Gross Koskoski. They shared 32 years together, married for the past 17 years. Born in Carteret, NJ, he was a son of the late John Helen (Yavorsky) Koskoski. Mike's education consisted of BS, Chemistry, MS, Chemistry and PhD, Physical and Inorganic Chemistry from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. He started his career teaching Chemistry courses at Rutgers and Millersville Universities for 9 years, he later spent 32 years working at Arkema, Inc. in a variety of technical and management positions. While at Rutgers he was responsible for coordinating all the activities of the faculty team involved in teaching the General Chemistry course, including the lectures, problem solving laboratory exercises, exams and testing, for approximately 1000. At Arkema, he developed numerous polymeric products for automotive, truck, off-shore oil drilling, hot-melt adhesives, films, powder coating and sports applications. He introduced Statistical Process Control and led the effort for the Birdsboro Plant to achieve ISO and A2LA accreditations, participated as a member of two multi-national teams to start-up a polyamide polymerization plant in Changshu, China and a powder plant in Pudong, China, developed and implemented the process for the development and production of tolled products, including glass fiber reinforced, electro conductive and master batch products to supply the global market demand. He also participated as a member of the International Business Development team to implement processes to harmonize and rationalize the range of all Arkema polyamide products, product specifications, raw material supplies and technical data sheets. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-daughters - Diane G. Stevenson, Breinigsville, Merry E. Keller, St. Louis, MO, Lori C. Keller, Breinigsville, his sister - Helen wife of Mike Mihalcik, Princeton, NJ, his sisters-in-laws - Marie Koskoski and Catherine Koskoski, his 4 step-grandchildren - David, Michael, Tacha, Tyson and his 2 step-great grandchildren - Yaqeenah and Yaqeen, 6 nieces and 1 nephew. He was predeceased by his brothers - Albert and George Koskoski, and his step-daughter - Cindy Dobie.
