Michele Di Martino, 93, of Lower Heidelberg Township, passed away June 11, 2024 at Penn State Health-St. Joseph with his loving family by his side.
Born in Palena, Italy, he was a son of the late Raffaele and Maria Francesca (Pierorazio) Di Martino. He was the husband of Marianna (Chiaverini) Di Martino. They celebrated 64 years of marriage.
He worked for 30 years at St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers, NY until retiring. A member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield, he was a member on the Men’s Catholic Club when he lived in New York. He loved gardening and landscaping. He enjoyed being with family and friends but his greatest joy was loving his grandchildren. While in Italy, he served in the Italian Army.
Michele was a kind man with a warm heart. Although a man of few words, he had an incredible ability to captivate the room when he spoke and shared his stories from the past. He will be fondly remembered by all for his generous spirit, incredible strength and perseverance in creating a beautiful life for his family.
