Patricia A. Burkhart, 91, of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully on March 28th at the Reading Hospital.

Patricia was born on January 1, 1934, in West Lawn, PA, the daughter of the late Frederick M. Franks and Edna K. (Springer) Franks.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George E. Burkhart on March 29, 2012.

She is survived by her three children, Wendy E., wife of Robert S. Wendel; Jeffrey G., husband of Lisa S.; and Eric E., husband of Caroline A. There are 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren surviving.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Frederick, Harry, Kenneth, William, and Clifford as well as her sisters Edna, Lorene, and Myrtle.

A 1951 graduate of Reading High School, Patricia worked for various companies in the secretarial field. She retired from Monsey Products Co. in Kimberton, PA in 1995 where she was an Administrative Assistant Secretary to the Research and Development Director.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sinking Spring PA. She loved to square and round dance, read, garden, cook, bake, exercise, and have lunch with her friends and family. She enjoyed family vacations with her husband, children and grandchildren. Grandma or Yaya, as she was called, loved all the time she spent with her grandchildren.

In accordance with Patricia's desires, there will be no funeral or memorial service.  A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
