Richard M. Klingaman, 87, of Ephrata, formerly of Bowmansville, passed away November 17, 2017 at 10:03 AM in Ephrata Community Hospital where he was a patient. He was the husband of Nancy E. (Lesher) Klingaman. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on December 10th. Born in Cedar Top, Berks County, he was a son of the late Allen & Harriett (Yoder) Swoyer. He was a mechanical engineer at Met-Ed / GPU for 28 years, retiring in 1990. He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War. A former member of St. Mark's UCC, Reading and a 1947 graduate of Reading High School, he furthered his education at Penn State graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of Portland Lodge No. 311, Portland, PA and the Scottish Rite Valley of Reading. He enjoyed wood working and making costume jewelry. Surviving in addition to his loving wife is his children - Kittiann wife of Robert Sessler, Venice, FL., Larry M. husband of Cynthia Klingaman, Sinking Spring, Linda J. Klingaman, Reading, Nancy K. Klingaman wife of John R. McDole, Etters, PA, Karin Sue wife of Jerry Schaeffer, Blandon, his grandchildren - Kristen Klingaman, Richard M. Klingaman, Michael L. Klingaman, Heather wife of Jeffrey Wilson, Holly Swenson, Derek Swenson, Jodi wife of Robert Blatt, Katherine Hess, Sarah wife of Carl Ekvall, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his grandson Jeremy Swenson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1 E.
