Robert Burnside Rasbridge

     Robert Burnside Rasbridge of the Heritage of Green Hills, formerly of Shillington, passed away peacefully at 97 years of age on February 28, 2025, with his loving family by his side.  Bob was the son of Emerson B. Rasbridge and Christine (Saylor) Rasbridge.  He was predeceased by the love of his life Elizabeth (Crosland) Rasbridge after 69 years of marriage.

     Bob is survived by his three children: daughter Lisa, wife of Robert Mochan of Sinking Spring, PA; daughter Lynne, wife of Richard Bainbridge of Ocean Pines, MD; and son Lance, husband of Chhorvy Sin of Dallas, TX.  He was affectionately called Pop by his eight grandchildren: Timothy Mochan, husband of Courtney; Benjamin Mochan; Andrew Bainbridge, husband of Nicole; Matthew Bainbridge, husband of Leslie; Emily Katcheves, wife of Alexander; Adam Bainbridge, husband of Mariah; Dylan Rasbridge; and Kim Chheng.  Bob was further blessed with ten great grandchildren: James, Caroline, Colton, Harper, Addison, Jack, Luca, Steven, Elias and Theodore.

     Bob was well known as a professional photographer.  After graduation from Valley Forge Military Academy and Yawn Photography School in Philadelphia, he began his career in the US Army as a publicity photographer in the Signal Corps in Nuremberg, Germany.  Upon discharge in 1952, he honed his skills in various camera shops and studios in Philadelphia and Reading, and he actively participated in the Berks Camera Club and the state and national Professional Photographers of America.  In 1959 he joined the Purdon House of Photography in Shillington, becoming the owner in 1972 until his retirement in 1989.  Bob photographed countless high school seniors and their activities for yearbooks, and his portraits and wedding albums have been treasured by innumerable families.

     Bob and Betty were active members of Holy Cross United Methodist Church for nearly 70 years.  Bob helped form and later presided over the Adult Fellowship, earning him the Laity Service Award in 2016.  In his later years he enjoyed attending West Lawn United Methodist Church.

     His family is forever grateful for the beach memories first started in Ocean City, NJ and then continued in Ocean City, MD for the past forty years in numerous rental homes in Ocean Pines.  Everyone looked forward to boating, water skiing, playing tennis, fishing, walking on the boardwalk and of course the late-night pinochle games.

     In retirement, Bob and his wife traveled extensively abroad, most memorably to the Holy Lands.  Additionally, they were quite proud of visiting 49 states, Canada and Mexico with their beloved dogs in their RV. 

     Bob’s legacy of love to his family and friends will live on with many memories and more photographs than anyone can count.  He will always be remembered for making people smile!

     A Celebration of Life service will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1 East Lancaster Ave., Shillington, PA 19607.  The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00-9:30am.
