Ronald A. Lykens, 76, of Shillington, passed away June 11, 2023 at 2:19 PM at his residence.
Born in Shillington, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Doris L (Deysher) Lykens. He was the husband of the late Mae E. (Bruckhart) Lykens who passed August 15, 2013. They celebrated 20 years of marriage prior to Mae’s passing.
Ron worked at Polymer Plastics, Textile Machine works and for 25 ½ years he was head custodian at Honey Brook Elementary School, retiring in 2005. He was a faithful member of the Worship Center, Lancaster County and of American Legion Reber-Moore Post # 635, Shillington. Ron’s passions were building models, westerns, Cowboys & Indians and classic cars.
Ron is survived by his children – Scott A. Lykens husband of Kim Wilson, Rock Hill SC, Betty Jo Huber, Bethlehem PA, David N. husband of Angela Huber, Shillington, Jeffrey L. husband of Danielle Huber, Kenhorst, and Scott E. husband of Michelle Huber, Shillington, his sister Barbara E. Powell, Sinking Spring, his grandchildren – Brianna, Kevin, Faith, Darius, Chase, Riley, Josie, Becca, Cameryn, Marianna, Nate, Bryna, Braelyn, Brayden, McLaine and Skylen, his great-grandchildren – Kiki, Victoria, Bubba, Felix, Orion and Dayla. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers – Earl Lykens, Robert Lykens and Donald Lykens.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ron’s viewing on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment with full military honors provided by Ray A. Master Post, American Legion and the U.S Army honor guard will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
