Sarah E. Yeager, 84, of Temple, passed away August 13, 2024 while visiting her sister in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada.
Born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was a daughter of the late William Luke and Margaret (MacDonald) Burns. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Yeager, Jr. who passed away April 3, 2008. They celebrated 47 years of marriage prior to his passing.
Sarah worked as a teller at the former Meridian Bank, Temple office. She also worked as the accounts payable supervisor for Redner’s Markets and volunteered at the Reading Hospital in outpatient services. She and her late husband were extremely active with Rajah Shrine. She assisted with both their gun raffle and circus. She was formerly in charge of Rajah Shrine bingo. Sarah was an avid bingo player and enjoyed shopping, travel and loved her chocolate. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye.
She is survived by her daughter – Karen A. wife of Mark E. Rutt, Sinking Spring, her sister – Marguerite T. Lewthwaite, Ontario, Canada, her brother – William J. husband of Norma Burns, Ontario, Canada. Her grandsons – Michael A. wife of Katherine Rutt, Tolland, CT, Matthew D. husband of Kayla Rutt, Mechanicsburg, and her great grandchildren – Michael A. Rutt, Jr., Kealey S. Rutt and Ella G. Rutt.
Funeral services from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Avenue., Shillington, on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Viewing on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM and Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 AM.
